Part C of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) requires that the lead agency monitor and supervise all early intervention services and programs in the state. Monitoring and accountability include self-assessment measures as well as external reviews and data collection. Monitoring involves the entire early intervention system at the local level.
